What does Work Permit mean?

Drivers who are arrested and who have their license suspended due to either a driving infraction or a DUI arrest (driving under the influence of alcohol) may be able to request a work permit. Work permits allow drivers to drive under very limited conditions such as to and from work or to the store. The conditions for driving are clearly outlined prior to the issuance of the work permit. Driving guidelines may include the hours of operation, the car which can be driven and the route which must be taken.

Certain drivers will not be granted a work permit, for instance, drivers who are under the age of 21 and who have been convicted of multiple DUIs may not qualify.
