What does Minor mean?

A minor child is a person under a certain age. The term is used to differentiate between an adult and a child. In the United States the term generally refers to someone under the age of 18, although for certain activities such as drinking, a minor can be considered anyone under the age of 21. Many states have a zero tolerance for drivers under the age of 21 which means they can be arrested for DUI if they are caught and arrested for operating a motor vehicle with any alcohol in their breath, blood or urine. Some states will punish minors who are above the age of 18, but under the age of 21, with the same penalties as an adult.
