Definition of Lawsuit

Drivers who have been involved in a minor car accident and who live in a no-fault state may be limited in their ability to sue negligent drivers for their car accident injuries and may not be able to file a car accident lawsuit. Drivers who have suffered severe injuries, who are not paid the full cost of damage from the insurance company, who are denied a claim or who are injured by another driver who does not have insurance may file a car accident lawsuit. If a driver wins a car accident lawsuit they may be entitled to receive the full cost of property damage, medical expenses, lost income, psychological pain and lost prospects.
