Definition of Distraction

Distractions can include any activity which shifts a driver's attention from the road and their focused attention on driving. Common distractions include: eating, texting, talking on the phone, changing the radio station, and conversing with passengers. Some jurisdictions have begun to investigate the benefits of banning certain distractions. Some cities now do not allow drivers to use handheld devices such as a telephone while they drive.
