What does Allegation mean?

An allegation is a declaration in an action by the plaintiff which claims that they think they have been wronged. The burden of proof is on the plaintiff to prove the allegation while the defendant will attempt to disprove the allegation. In a personal injury claim for a car accident, the plaintiff will attempt to prove the other driver was negligent and their negligence caused their injuries, while the defendant will seek to disprove this allegation.
